  Abimbola Adelakun The University of Lagos (UNILAG), yesterday, announced the commencement of the second jab of the COVID-19 vaccination programme for its staff and students. The Acting Director of the school’s Medical Centre, Dr. (Mrs) O. O. Coker, in a statement on the school’s website, instructed that recipients of the first dosage should receive the second jab at the university medical centre. As part of management’s efforts to ensure the school is COVID free, the vaccine will complement non-pharmaceutical measures in place  The website reads in part, “the second dose of the Vaccine will boost the immunity of all recipients against COVID-19 and provide full protection against the dreaded disease.” The vaccination which would be administered in two batches is slated to hold between Wednesday 23rd of June and Friday 2nd July 2021 by the Lagos state ministry of health. Dr. Ismail Ishola Adam Adegoke Dr. Ismail Ishola, a lecturer at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), has called for government funding to support the creation of a COVID-19 cure using phytomedicine. He explained that ‘phytomedicine is the use of naturally available medicinal plants which have also been used in the management of disease, and passed on from generation to generation."
