Alpha Beta floats fund to immortalise slain alumnus

Alpha Beta Consulting has established an endowment in honour of late
David Nketim-Rex, a graduate of the University of Lagos who died in a robbery
attack on January 15, 2021 in Lagos.
The management of Alpha Beta Consulting presented a bank draft of one
million, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N1,250,000) to the Dean of the
Faculty of Engineering, Professor Obanisola Mufutau Sadiq, for the endowment
fund on February 8, 2021.
The bank draft is expected to cover the cost of an annual scholarship
(N250,000) for the next five years.
The annual scholarship will be presented to the best graduating student
of the Systems Engineering department at the convocation ceremony.
Head, Projects and Corporate affairs, Alpha Beta Consulting, Mr Opeyemi
Ogungbo, said the endowment was part of the corporate social responsibility
(CSR) efforts to immortalise the slain alumnus.
Present at the meeting were Acting Head of the Department of Systems
Engineering, Dr. T.T. Akano; Head, Corporate Services, Alpha Beta Consulting,
Mrs. Morounkeji Folasade; and Head, Client Management, Alpha Beta Consulting,
Mrs. Modupe Odubajo.
The deceased, David Nketim-Rex, graduated from the Department of Systems
Engineering, UNILAG in 2018.
He placed second at the Master the Mainframe competition, organised by
AngelHack and the IBM Z Initiative, aged 19.
